Helen Rose's public profile

In my heart I am a science technician although my passion is for physics. I am Professional Development Leader for technicians and I have been a technician for 30 years which includes 5 years as an industrial textiles technician.
I love my work at the National where I get to tutor old, new and exciting aspects of science to technicians who want to learn, be enthused and take back to school the knowledge they have learnt and have impact on students learning. I am the course leader for Skills for New Technicians who are science technicians new to the job. At the end of their training they go away confident and knowledgeable to carry out their duties at school. I also have cpd timetable for STEM clubs where technicians can develop a club at school and learn new or simple activities for students to carry out which will complement the science department’s SOW.
I have a range of personal interests although tincturing, music and gardening at the forefront at the moment.
