Doc Watson's public profile

I am an energetic physics teacher and science communicator. I am currently working as a self-employed consultant, working with the Ogden Trust, PSQM (Primary Science Quality Mark), the National STEM centre (as a Polar Ambassador and Space Ambassador) and other STEM organisations.

After having a varied career encompassing a PhD in low temperature semiconductor physics, working for maths software companies and editing computer books, I retrained as a secondary Science teacher and I now teach chidren from KS1 Science to KS5 Physics!

Three years ago, I moved to mostly teaching primary-level children about physics, space and science. I deliver teacher CPD days, KS2 and KS1 workshops (often described as 'fantastic') and I also organise multi-school Science events for Birmingham primary schools.

I am part of the Ogden Trust Primary Team developing and delivering CPD and more. I also coordinate some partnerships of primary schools and am a PSQM hubleader.
