We will support you throughout this course to further your understanding of the human body and look at ways of introducing the human body in your lessons. The focus is on developing your subject knowledge and classroom practice and activities. You will also explore some of the common misconceptions around this area and then look at some ideas for activities which you can use in class to help challenge children’s misconceptions.

Who is it for?
This online course is for primary teachers and trainee teachers for primary education (pupils aged 5-11 years). Teaching assistants may also be interested in developing their subject knowledge through this course. The English National Curriculum will be referred to, but teachers will be able to apply subject knowledge to their own curricula.
What topics are covered?
This course covers:
- the link between the human digestive system, respiratory system and the circulatory system
- typical misconceptions about circulation and digestion
- consider the importance of choosing vocabulary carefully
- explore a range of classroom activities and teaching approaches

This course takes around 6 hours to complete and you do not need to be online at any specific time. You can take the course at your own pace.
