As a previous member of our Cornwall Secondary science CPD off we would be delighted to welcome you back again for another year.  as a returning school you get to take advantage of a higher teacher release payment making your package fee  even more affordable for your school. Developed and delivered and administered by the Science Learning Partnership for Cornwall.  The STEM Learning Network provides high quality locally nationally developed professional learning on a local basis through Science Learning Partnerships (SLPs).    This term we are delivering CPD and Network meetings both remotely and face to face.  We are also able to provide advice and guidance pertaining to the science curriculum and to signpost you to resources and other professional bodies who can help. 

This School science support package consists of

Subject Leaders Network 

Meeting planned in conjunction with David Barton, Executive Officer, CASH - dates will be confirmed shortly

CASH have recently organised Science Secondary Leader meetings, face to face from Autumn 2023. 

Technician Network 

Technician Network will run as 1 remote session in autumn and then 3 x 2 hours, face to face, within the school day. This successful network is being run by Stacey Wheeler and will include useful practical sessions, and allow technicians to network with other local technicians from nearby schools. 2023 will see the emergence of a East and West Cornwall network to make these easier to access for technicians from all over Cornwall.  Further details and dates can be found here:

Teaching and learning (ECT+1) Network 

Open to all secondary science teachers, this network will enable you to engage in the latest research and developments in science education and will provide opportunities to collaborate and share best practice with other teachers across the region.

Date – 13.11.23, 11.12.23, 29.1.24, 4.3.24, 10.6.24 & 1.7.24

Time – 16.00-17.00

Teaching & Learning package | STEM

Pedagogy Network 

Designed to support the Stem Learning’s secondary CPD courses this network is an opportunity further develop and enhance your own pedagogy knowledge. These sessions are suitable for science teachers who are aspiring to leadership in the future or are currently leading science or key stage 3/4.

Date – 9.11.23, 1.2.24, 14.3.24, 2.5.24 & 4.7.24

Time - 16.00-17.00

Pedagogy-network l STEM

Secondary Conference  

A one day conference to be used as a showcase of what STEM Learning, Science teachers and key note speakers can offer in Cornwall.  


The package costs £650.00 for all of the above. This price is also supported by a teacher release payment of £450.00 making the price you pay @ £200.00 per school. If you sign up by 1.11.23 then you school will be invoiced for the total amount initially and the TRP will be paid back by end of December term.
